Summer term at IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems is starting and Consulting II and III lectures are kicked off, in the Export-oriented Management programme.

Background to this courses: Management is simply an ongoing Change challenge. This sentence is even more true in times of Business 2.0 and 3.0, where industries are heavily transforming since the world is becoming flat. This means: Company boundaries dissolve, corporate value creation takes place elsewhere and consequently former linear value chains become complex corporate ecosystems. There is much more to say about this transformation, but one central point is getting suddenly overproportional priority: Future management requires skills and methodologies which assure impactful and sustainable change under increasing degrees of uncertainty. Future managers will have to do their job and to accomplish their career in a corporate environment which compares to an intangible cloud and thus need to embrace a skillset and methodologies which makes them impactful change managers in a less intangible and uncertain environment, then ever before.

The aim of Consulting II and III lectures is to open up the best practice toolbox of Business Consulting. Business Consulting aim is sustainable change within a time minimum (= acceleration). This is exactly what supports best future managers. Therefore adopting selected best practices from Consulting enhance management skills. Secondary target of these lectures is to create understanding of how to use Consulting companies in the optimal way. Central points will be: Which consulting company to assign for which job. How to gain the maximum by setting the right targets and expectations. And how to manage Business Consulters in order to gain desired results, efficiently and effectively.

More information about the Change topic can be gained here: Capgemini Change Management Study 2010 – unfortunately only available in German language.

For IMC students first materials will be available on the Infoboard before lecture start. No prereading required.

Alcatel, Cisco, Wirtschaftskammer Österreich und weitere österreichische Player füttern einen Enterprise 2.0 Blog. Das Ergebnis: Eine sehr ergiebige Sammlung von Themenhinweisen und Resourcen zu Enterprise 2.0. Nicht technische Ressourcen. Sondern der Blog schafft den betriebswirtschaftlichen Rundumblick. Daher doppelt wertvoll. Zum Blog geht es hier:
